The number of educational institutions operating under the Great Return program in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions is set to reach 52, Eshgi Bagirov, Director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, said during his speech at the September Conference of Education Workers.
Bagirov stated that during the previous academic year, the number of educational facilities in Karabakh and East Zangezur under the Great Return initiative reached 37. "In the new academic year, the number of educational institutions operating in these territories is expected to increase to 52," he noted.
He added that new educational facilities will also open across other regions of Azerbaijan, with 43 new general education institutions scheduled to start operations for the upcoming academic year.
Furthermore, Bagirov highlighted that renovation work was carried out in approximately 1,000 educational institutions in recent months, improving the learning environment for around 550,000 students.
