Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia are forming a single economic space connected to Europe through Türkiye on one side and to Asia on the other, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at the Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan (CAMCA) Regional Forum in Baku, APA reports.
Jabbarov said Azerbaijan has established joint investment funds with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, adding that these mechanisms combine separate medium-sized markets into a single investment opportunity.
“In this way, Azerbaijan and Central Asia are forming a single economic space connected to Europe through Türkiye on one side and to Asia on the other,” he said.
According to the minister, the next stage of regional integration should not be limited to transporting goods across borders.
“We should increasingly produce together by creating regional value chains in areas where our economies have complementary advantages,” Jabbarov said.
He also noted that the goal is to increase regional trade turnover to $20 billion and establish joint production under the “Made in Central Asia” brand.
