“Turkic states should work together in the defense industry,” Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev told journalists following the second meeting of the heads of defense industry bodies of OTS member states held within the framework of the ADEX-2026 exhibition, APA reports.
He said that at a time when various wars and conflicts are taking place around the world, expanding cooperation among Turkic states in the defense industry is of particular importance.
“We are strong when we are together. This is one of more than 65 areas of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. In this context, today’s meeting is very important,” the Secretary General noted.
Kubanychbek Omuraliev said that bringing together representatives of Turkic states and defining a roadmap for cooperation in the defense industry within the framework of the ADEX-2026 exhibition is an important step.
According to him, the roadmap includes cooperation in the field of training alongside the defense industry.
The Secretary General also emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan’s experience gained in the Patriotic War for the development of the defense industries of the Turkic states.
“The victory achieved by brotherly Azerbaijan in this war is important not only for one Turkic state but for the entire Turkic world. We always say this. As President Ilham Aliyev has also said, the Turkic world is our world. The victory achieved by Azerbaijan is a very important example for every country in the Turkic world,” he added.
