President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on the occasion of the National Day of China, APA reports.
In his letter, President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Xi Jinping and the Chinese people on October 1 – the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Azerbaijani President praised China’s achievements in national prosperity, socio-economic and scientific-technological progress, innovation and other key areas under Xi Jinping’s leadership.
“We attach special importance to the development of our relations with China, which is our friendly country and reliable strategic partner,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
He noted that the high-level political dialogue, mutual trust and understanding between the two countries, as well as their continued support for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, are among the defining features of Azerbaijan-China relations.
President Ilham Aliyev said the elevation of bilateral ties to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership reflects the political will and consistent joint efforts of both countries.
He also highlighted the dynamic development of cooperation in trade, transport and logistics, investment, energy, agriculture and humanitarian affairs, noting that the visa-free regime between Azerbaijan and China has contributed to people-to-people contacts and tourism.
The President also emphasized the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Middle Corridor and other connectivity projects implemented with Central Asian countries.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and China has entered a new stage and highlighted the activities of Universal Energy in Azerbaijan’s renewable energy sector, including the recently inaugurated Gobustan Solar Power Plant.
“I am confident that the Azerbaijan-China friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership, which have ancient roots and good traditions, will continue to develop and strengthen through our joint efforts in accordance with the will of our peoples,” the President said.
