The Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Business, Investment and Export Promotion under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy has begun operations as of today, APA-Economics reports.
The agency was established under Presidential Decree No. 607 dated February 24, 2026, on the basis of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO, both public legal entities under the Ministry of Economy.
The new agency will support the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, promote investment and exports in the non-oil and gas sector, participate in protecting entrepreneurs’ interests, and coordinate services between state institutions and businesses in these areas.
The agency’s total staffing limit has been set at 370 positions, including 291 positions at its central office and 79 in regional divisions.
