The death toll from the sinking of the Virgo Transport 8 vessel in Indonesia has risen to 78, APA reports citing Antara.
According to the report, more than 1,000 rescuers have been involved in search and rescue operations.
On the 18th day of the operation, the whereabouts of 186 people had been established. Of them, 108 were rescued, while 57 remain missing.
The vessel went missing on September 13 during a severe storm while sailing from Surabaya in East Java province to Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan province.
A total of 243 people, including 30 crew members, were on board.
