The Middle Corridor is becoming increasingly important against the backdrop of geopolitical processes taking place in the region, Chairman of the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev said during his speech at the Central Asia–Mongolia–Caucasus–Afghanistan (CAMCA) Regional Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
In this context, Shafiyev also cited the crisis in Iran as an example and drew attention to the importance of transport connectivity.
He said that, particularly since 2020, steps have been taken by Georgia, Kazakhstan and other countries to reduce existing barriers.
Shafiyev emphasized the need for additional investment in the development of the Middle Corridor.
“Of course, we have certain challenges related to the Caspian Sea. However, I think that despite some difficulties, the Middle Corridor is becoming increasingly important,” he noted.
