In accordance with its historical mission, the Armenian church continues its activity in the field of disrupting the normalization and peace processes between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Armenian church, spreading only hatred, enmity, and genocide ideas against Turks, and Azerbaijanis for centuries, being an inspiration of Armenian radicalism, and terrorism, is planning the scenario to hinder the peace process again. Karegin II, Catholicos of all Armenians met with Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan yesterday. According to the information disseminated after the meeting, holding a meeting among Former Armenian presidents, former “leaders” of the former separatist Karabakh regime, Karegin, and Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia I Aram is expected.
The meeting, to be held in 3+2+2 format will discuss ways to get out of the situation.
While saying that “ways to get out of the situation will be discussed”, there is no doubt that the final result from the meeting will again be statements against Azerbaijan and Turkiye, revanchist decisions against disrupting the peace process. The main point creating this certainty is that the Armenian church has never shown the peaceful way to its co-religionists, and has never called for peace. So, it is not worth expecting an exception this time either.
The idea of "Greater Armenia," created by the Armenian church and based on the territorial claims of neighboring countries, is always supported by the Armenian diaspora, which has strong bases in different countries of the world. At present, the process of drafting a peace agreement, which is considered an important component of the post-conflict period, is strongly rejected by the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian diaspora-the main supporter of its ideas. Thus, both institutions are preventing peace and stability, as well as the future development of the region in the geography where the Armenian state continues to exist. It is worth remembering that the steps taken in the interests of the church and diaspora over the past 30 years have brought Armenia into this situation from the standpoint of political, economic, military, diplomatic, and demographic terms.
