The second meeting of the heads of defense industry bodies of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on October 1 within the framework of the 6th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition “ADEX-2026,” APA reports.
Minister of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Mustafayev, OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev and heads of defense industry bodies of other member states attended the meeting.
Minister Vugar Mustafayev declared the meeting open, welcomed the participants and expressed his pleasure at seeing them in Azerbaijan.
He noted that holding the meeting simultaneously with the 6th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition “ADEX-2026” is of particular importance. This provides an opportunity not only to hold discussions, but also to see the real industrial capabilities, technologies and potential partners of our countries in one place.
Mustafayev noted that relations among the Turkic states are currently developing on the basis of high-level dialogue, mutual trust and common interests, and that cooperation in the defense industry is becoming one of the increasingly practical and strategic areas of these relations.
The meeting featured discussions on human resources and engineering potential, institutional cooperation, joint production and industrial cooperation, research, development and new technologies, and speeches were delivered by the Secretary General of the organization and the heads of defense industry bodies of the member states.
At the end, a Roadmap for Cooperation in the Defense Industry among OTS member states was adopted.
It should be noted that the first meeting of the heads of defense industry bodies of OTS member states was held last year in Istanbul, Türkiye, within the framework of the IDEF 2025 exhibition.
