Russia’s warning about the consequences of attempts to blockade Kaliningrad should not be regarded as a confrontational statement, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He emphasized that the warning was made against the backdrop of Europe’s ongoing militarization.
It should be noted that official Moscow previously warned NATO through its embassies in European capitals that Russia was ready to use its entire arsenal, including nuclear weapons, if the alliance attempted to blockade Kaliningrad. Later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia’s nuclear response to a blockade of Kaliningrad was stipulated in its governing documents, threatening Europe with nuclear weapons.
