A series of working meetings were held between the Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund and a delegation from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) during the delegation’s visit to Baku aimed at developing international cooperation in the areas of financial security and institutional resilience, the Fund told APA.
During the bilateral discussions, the parties exchanged views on the institutional functioning of the deposit insurance system, mechanisms for maintaining financial stability, coordination approaches applied during insurance events, the legal framework, risk-based management principles, and measures implemented in the field of digital transformation.
As part of the meetings, the Fund’s relevant structural units delivered presentations on information technology infrastructure, depositor registry systems, compensation calculation and payment mechanisms, backup solutions for ensuring business continuity, data protection measures, and technical tools used to enhance system resilience.
The parties also reviewed international practices related to digital financial instruments, electronic money and the legal regulation of digital assets, as well as mechanisms for information exchange and institutional coordination among government agencies.
During the discussions, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of prompt decision-making during crises, ensuring a unified approach to public communication, and protecting depositors’ rights. Future opportunities for technical cooperation, professional knowledge and experience sharing, and institutional capacity building were also assessed.
The Deposit Insurance Fund noted that it intends to continue expanding cooperation with international partners, studying advanced international practices, and implementing modern governance mechanisms in the field of financial security.
