07 October 2026 13:04 (UTC +04:00)

The Slovakia-Azerbaijan Tourism and SPA Sector Forum has been held in Baku, APA reports.

Representatives of state institutions, companies and business circles operating in the tourism sector of Azerbaijan and Slovakia participated in the forum.

The event discussed the expansion of tourism ties between the two countries, opportunities for cooperation in the tourism sector, increasing mutual visits and developing business relations.

Speaking at the forum, First Secretary of the Slovak Embassy Sona Krajcova said that the launch of a new air route between Azerbaijan and Slovakia would contribute to a new stage in relations between the two countries.

“Slovakia’s rich culture and gastronomy, Slavic cuisine, famous wine-producing regions and the hospitality of the local population offer attractive opportunities for tourists. The new air route will contribute to the development of tourism ties, cultural exchange and humanitarian cooperation,” she noted.

Presentations on Slovakia’s tourism sector were held within the framework of the forum, and B2B meetings were organized between Azerbaijani and Slovak representatives.

The contribution that the Bratislava-Baku direct air connection could make to the development of tourism ties between the two countries was also in focus at the event.

It was noted that, within the framework of cooperation with tour operators, opportunities are being offered to purchase group tickets for flights between Baku and Bratislava starting from October 28, as well as to book tickets at fixed prices within the framework of regular cooperation.

At the end of the event, an exchange of views was held on further expanding cooperation between Slovakia and Azerbaijan in the field of tourism.
