A 58-year-old man from Lankaran who joined the Russia-Ukraine war as a doctor has been killed in a drone strike, APA's southern bureau reports.
Vahab Ramazan oglu Guliyev, born in 1968 and a native of Separadi village in Lankaran district, was called up for military service by Ukraine to serve in his professional capacity one year after the Russia-Ukraine war began. He was wounded twice during his service. He received treatment for his injuries and subsequently returned to combat duties in his professional capacity. Several days ago, he was killed while performing his official duties as a result of a strike by a Russian UAV during fighting in the Kupiansk direction.
It should be noted that Vahab Guliyev entered a medical institute in Ukraine in 1986. He defended his candidate dissertation in Moscow and received the academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.
Vahab Guliyev is the son of Khanimbaji Guliyeva, a member of the well-known “Grandmothers” folklore club.
He had been living in Ukraine for more than 30 years. Measures are being taken to repatriate his body to Azerbaijan.
