“Some 800 Azerbaijani students are studying in Hungary,” Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tamás Torma said during his speech at the “Study in Europe” exhibition held in Baku, APA reports.
According to him, this demonstrates the level of academic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The diplomat noted that Azerbaijani students at Hungarian universities mainly study in such fields as engineering, business, and information technologies. Hungarian higher education institutions offer high-quality education programs in English, modern research opportunities, and internationally recognized diplomas.
Tamás Torma said cooperation between Azerbaijani and Hungarian universities has developed particularly in the fields of agriculture and pharmaceuticals. He noted cooperation between the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, as well as between the University of Pécs and Azerbaijan Medical University.
The ambassador also said that Hungarian language courses are taught at Azerbaijan University of Languages and that this cooperation allows students from both countries to learn each other’s language and culture.
According to the diplomat, four direct flights are operated weekly between Baku and Budapest. He stressed that this is also one of the factors contributing to the development of relations between the two countries and enabling Azerbaijani students to study in Hungary.
It should be noted that seven Hungarian universities are participating in the “Study in Europe” exhibition.
