“The European Parliament is of no interest. Everyone knows very well that this body has recently been spreading nothing but lies,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists, APA’s local bureau reports.

He said that attempts to politicize court proceedings are directly contrary to the principle of the rule of law.

“It is tragic that a particular European institution does not understand this. They are trying to exert political influence on a court decision. Of course, they will not succeed, but they absolutely fail to understand that political interference is unacceptable, especially in matters related to the activities of the Constitutional Court,” the Prime Minister added.

It should be noted that a debate on “Attempts by the ruling Georgian Dream party to ban opposition parties in Georgia” will be held in the European Parliament today. As a result of the discussions, a critical resolution is expected to be adopted tomorrow.

It should be recalled that Georgia’s Constitutional Court has already begun considering a lawsuit filed by the ruling Georgian Dream party seeking the dissolution of opposition parties.
