Relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are at a high level, Secretary General of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dušan Kozarev said at the 4th International Conference held within the framework of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, APA reports.
Touching upon relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia, he thanked Azerbaijan for its position on protecting Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Kozarev emphasized that relations between the two countries and peoples are at a high level.
“We believe that our experience in resolving the issue of missing persons may also be important for other regions affected by conflicts,” he added.
Stating that Serbia is ready to share its experience in forensic expertise, examination of human remains, and cooperation among relevant institutions in work related to mass and secret graves, Kozarev noted the importance of cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Commission on Missing Persons, the United Nations Development Programme, and other international partners.
He emphasized that humanitarian principles, professional expertise, and sustained international cooperation can produce concrete results even in the most difficult post-conflict conditions.
“Clarifying the fate of missing persons is an important humanitarian obligation and an important contribution to building trust, reconciliation, and lasting peace,” the Serbian official said.
