Azerbaijani journalists’ congress postponed by one day

07 October 2026 12:59 (UTC +04:00)

The Ninth Congress of Azerbaijani Journalists will be held at the Rashid Behbudov Song Theatre. The Organizing Committee for preparations for the congress has also decided to change the date of the event from October 15 to October 16, the Press Council told APA.

It was noted that the decision stems from the need to carry out preparations more efficiently.

“The Organizing Committee calls on organizations that are members of the Press Council to accelerate the process of nominating delegates to the congress and candidates for the Council’s Management Board and, for this purpose, to follow the instructions posted in the ‘Ninth Congress of Azerbaijani Journalists’ section of the Press Council’s presscouncil.az website by completing the forms and delivering them personally to the Press Council or sending them to [email protected],” the statement said.

The process of nominating delegates and candidates will end on October 12.

The congress will begin its work at 09:00 on October 16.
