Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas revenues covered 92% of current expenditures in 2025

“In 2025, the amount of financial resources required for the implementation of the country's priority socio-economic development areas and other necessary expenditures was fully and timely provided," Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev said during the discussion of the draft law “On the Execution of the 2025 State Budget” at today's plenary session of the Milli Majli, APA reports.

According to the minister, in 2025, state budget expenditures were executed at 93.2% of the forecast, or AZN 38.6 billion, which is AZN 891 million, or 2.4%, more than in 2024: “Overall, over the past five years, state budget expenditures have increased by AZN 11.2 billion, or 41%. By structure, AZN 22.1 billion, or 57.3%, of state budget expenditures were directed to current expenditures, AZN 14.4 billion, or 37.3%, to capital expenditures, and AZN 2.1 billion, or 5.4%, to expenditures related to servicing public debt and obligations.”

The Finance Minister emphasized that 92% of the current expenditures executed in the reporting year amounting to AZN 22.1 billion, or AZN 20.4 billion, were covered by revenues from the non-oil and gas sector.
