The Georgian Parliament has confirmed Tamaz Borashvili as head of the country's State Security Service (SSS), APA's local bureau reports.
A total of 83 lawmakers voted in favor of his candidacy.
Under Georgian legislation, the head of the State Security Service is appointed for a six-year term.
Tamaz Borashvili served for many years as director of the SSS State Security Department and had held the position of deputy head of the SSS since September 2025.
Recall that former SSS chief Geka Geladze resigned on September 14. He was appointed deputy minister of internal affairs.
