Lukoil's Volgograd Oil Refinery in Russia completely halted crude oil processing on October 2 due to equipment damage caused by a drone attack, APA's Russia bureau reports, citing Reuters.
The regional administration, citing Governor Andrei Bocharov, reported a massive drone attack on the region's industrial infrastructure on October 2 but did not name the facilities damaged in the attack.
Lukoil has not commented on the matter.
It should be noted that previous major drone attacks on the Volgograd Oil Refinery took place on May 29 and July 31 of this year and caused significant damage.
The Volgograd Oil Refinery has the capacity to process approximately 14 million tonnes of crude oil per year. This accounts for about 5% of Russia's total refining capacity.
