"The South Caucasus is an important region in terms of Europe's security and prosperity," Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said during a panel discussion at a Euronews forum held in the UAE, APA's local bureau reports.

According to her, if enlargement is being discussed and European security is being taken seriously, it must be taken into account that the South Caucasus is an important part of the map.

"We have a desire for European integration, but we do not yet have experience of being part of the European family. Europe wants to enlarge, but its experience with the South Caucasus is also limited. As a result, both sides need to learn and exchange experiences. This requires intensive dialogue and joint efforts," the foreign minister said.

The minister also paid particular attention to transport and logistics connectivity and the role of the Middle Corridor.

"The Middle Corridor is not just a corridor or a physical route; this project is a space where all these elements intersect," Maka Botchorishvili added.
