Former head of Georgia's State Security Service (SSS) Grigol Liluashvili has been sentenced to 13 years in prison, the Tbilisi City Court announced, APA's local bureau reports.

Grigol Liluashvili denied the charges brought against him in his final statement at yesterday's court hearing.

It should be noted that Grigol Liluashvili, who served as head of the SSS from October 2019 to April 2025, was detained in December last year. He was accused of accepting bribes on an especially large scale and using proceeds obtained from providing protection to the activities of "call centers" to finance the opposition.
