Azerbaijan posts 10% growth in industrial production

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s industrial growth was 9.6% during January-August, said the countryâ€™s top body.
The State Statistical Committee said industrial production reached AZN 20.5 billion during this period. The growth was 9.9% in oil sector and 6.8% in non-oil sector.
The growth was 9.2% in oil extraction, 59.3% in gas production, 1% in foodstuff production, 50.3% in chemicals production, 31.8% in fur, leather and shoes making, 36.2% in metallurgy, and 8.4% in electronic machine and equipment making, etc.
Industrial services accounted for 5.2% of production. The share of the private sector was 82.1% in production. Extractive industry took a share of 78.8% in production.
