Christos Folias: “Azerbaijan will transport natural gas to Greece”

“I want to note that Azerbaijan will for the first time transport has to the European Union. This is also the beginning of close energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and European Union,” he said.
Christos Folias said Greece could play the role of a door for Azerbaijan to the European Union.
“I hope Azerbaijan will soon begin transporting great deal of gas to Greek market. Russia supplies 80 percent of Greece’s natural gas demands, we also transport gas from Turkey and Algeria,” he said.
Greek State Television reports that Christos Folias, who had come to Baku to attend Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan oil & gas conference, discussed with Azerbaijani president issue on signing four-party deal among Azerbaijan, Turkey, Greece and Italy on gas transportation to Europe. It is not known when the deal will be signed.
