President of Turkmenistan Sardar Berdimuhamedov has sent a letter to President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
The letter says: "On behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan, and on my own behalf, I am honored to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and all the fraternal people of your country on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Over the past years, bilateral friendly relations between our countries, based on the unity of spiritual and cultural values, as well as the principles of equality and mutual respect, as well as mutually beneficial partnership have been developing and expanding.
At present, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan successfully cooperate in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
We reaffirm our readiness to continue to make the necessary efforts to strengthen and develop time-tested useful cooperation.
Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, Taking this opportunity, I sincerely wish you good health, happiness and new successes in your work, and progress and prosperity to all the people of Azerbaijan."
President Ilham Aliyev also sent a letter to President of Turkmenistan Sardar Berdimuhamedov.
The letter says:
"This year we celebrate a significant anniversary - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. I sincerely congratulate you on this wonderful event and convey my best wishes to you and the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan stem from the will of our peoples, who have historically lived in friendship. It is especially gratifying that our relations, based on a common history, brotherhood and mutual respect, have developed dynamically over the past period and reached a qualitatively new level, and today have the character of a strategic partnership.
Mutual visits, regular contacts, documents signed in various fields, joint projects have played an important role in expanding our cooperation. The high level of our political relations is accompanied by our fruitful cooperation in the economic, transport and logistics, energy, humanitarian and other fields. Our relations within international organizations also continue successfully.
I believe that there are favorable conditions for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in all areas, especially in the field of transport. I am confident that using these opportunities, through our joint efforts, we will be able to strengthen our traditional friendly relations and further expand the scope of our interaction.
