The Russian military has carried out a drone strike on the premises of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv, APA reports.
Ukraine’s Suspilne reported this, citing the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine.
According to the report, the VVR-M research reactor is located on the territory of the institute. A fire that broke out following the strike on the night of September 30 was later extinguished.
The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate said that the reactor itself and systems important for safety were not damaged.
No changes in the radiation background were recorded either.
