Cooperation among the military prosecutor’s offices of Azerbaijan, Russia and China has been discussed, APA reports.
On September 30, a roundtable of military prosecutors from the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held for the first time in Kazan, Russian Federation.
According to information provided to APA by Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office, the first meeting of the newly established platform aimed at developing cooperation among military prosecution authorities focused on improving prosecutorial supervision in the field of border security, strengthening legality and law and order in military institutions, preventing offenses, as well as expanding the exchange of professional experience and information.
Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Military Prosecutor Bahruz Ahmadov participated in the main session of the event and provided detailed information on the structure, powers and activities of Azerbaijan’s military prosecution authorities.
As part of the event, the participants exchanged views on strengthening direct professional contacts among military prosecutor’s offices, developing coordinated approaches to ensuring security, and studying advanced practices in this field.
During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Bahruz Ahmadov and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and Chief Military Prosecutor Valery Petrov.
The meeting covered the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the military prosecution authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia, the expansion of professional experience exchange, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
The Azerbaijani Military Prosecutor also met with Sun Xiujun, Chief Prosecutor of the Military Procuratorate of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
The sides exchanged views on establishing and developing interaction between military prosecution authorities, sharing experience in ensuring legality, and opportunities for future cooperation.
