"When it comes to the natural gas issues, we are 100% fulfilling our commitments under contract. Azerbaijani gas is being imported to Georgia, Turkiye, Bulgaria, Greece, and Italy. So, alongside Turkiye, Italy is also our gas importer," said President Ilham Aliyev as he made a speech at the international conference under the motto “South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation” held at ADA University, APA reports.
The Head of state noted that last year, more than 9 bln cubic meters of gas has been imported from Azerbaijan to Italy.
"Surely, we plan our production on gas within the framework of the existing agreements and these agreements have a specific scope, we do not produce more than it. But if it is required, needed, firstly, we have to look at the sources. Because our production potential has been calculated for local consumption and export. Several appeals have been received regarding the increase in the gas supply. We have received appeals not only from Italy but also other European countries," said President Ilham Aliyev.
