Open fire has been put out in an 18th-century mansion in downtown St. Petersburg, the city’s Emergencies Ministry department said in a statement, APA reports.
"Open fire was put out at 1:45 a.m. Moscow time [10:45 p.m. Thursday GMT]," the statement says.
The mansion was designed by architect Ferdinand Miller and is also known as the Bremmer House. Constructed in 1872 in the eclectic style according to a design by Ferdinand Miller, an academician of architecture, the Bremmer House has been a landmark of St. Petersburg’s social and cultural life for decades. Its ongoing renovation was supposed to be finished by the end of 2027.
