Several hundred high schools will remain closed this Friday, October 2nd. Due to the student protest movement marked by violence and vandalism, "a little over 400 schools will be closed at this time," announced the Minister of National Education, Édouard Geffray, on France 2 this Thursday, APA reports.
They will be closed "either because the fire protection systems have been destroyed, or because the staff have been deliberately targeted," the minister said, adding that the high school student movement "has changed in nature" and "is being held hostage by violent groups."
