"The realities have changed and this has been acknowledged by even the mediators and even before the Russia-Ukrainian war, there was a kind of frustration among the Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group about what they should do. Because Azerbaijan itself implemented the Madrid Principles and when I met the Representatives of the Minsk Group just after the end of the war I told them to give proposals. What are they going to do, and what will be their agenda? And I know that it was very difficult for them to put forward some practical proposals," said President Ilham Aliyev as he made a speech at the international conference under the motto “South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation” held at ADA University, APA reports.
"But after the Russia-Ukrainian war, it was announced that Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship is no longer functional, it is dysfunctional. In this respect, this shows that there are new realities and of course, they have an impact. So, it is important that the Armenian government and Armenian political spectrum fully realize the new realities and totally refrain from any kind of attempts to take revenge. First, it will become productive, the result of it if that happens will be even more painful for Armenia. Second, it will be contradictory to the demand of the region and the demand of the international community to finally achieve long-lasting peace. From our side, we do everything in order to support the positive trends," noted the head of state.
