Secretary General: Volume of electronic payment transactions in Türkiye exceeds cash payments by 20 times

The volume of transactions carried out through electronic payment systems in Türkiye has surpassed cash payment transactions by nearly 20 times, Secretary General of the Banks Association of Türkiye Nurullah Bakır said during his speech at the 10th International Finance and Banking Summit held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, demand for electronic payment systems is rapidly increasing under the influence of digitalization.

"Innovative and secure solutions implemented in this field are of great importance for the financial systems of our countries. Türkiye's domestic payment system, TROY, is one of the successful examples in this regard. The development of TROY demonstrates that, through strong cooperation and strategic vision, it is possible to create solutions that meet regional needs," he said.
