Economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States continues to expand, and a significant portion of the country’s portfolio investments is concentrated in U.S. capital and stock markets, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at a briefing dedicated to the results of the first Azerbaijan-U.S. Economic Dialogue, APA reports.
According to him, the documents signed yesterday within the framework of Baku Energy Week also include projects envisaging direct investments by Azerbaijani companies in U.S. markets.
The Economy Minister emphasized that this area is expected to develop further in the future.
The minister added that the parties are also working to expand cooperation in trade and create more inclusive mechanisms. In addition, cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure is regarded as one of the key priorities.
Mikayil Jabbarov noted that artificial intelligence is an area with a major impact not only on economic development but also on social life.
Stating that the United States possesses advanced technologies and a strong knowledge base in this field, the minister stressed that such cooperation creates significant opportunities for Azerbaijan.
He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s strong infrastructure base, energy capabilities, and domestic and regional demand potential.
The minister added that the country is interested not only in infrastructure projects but also in developing its ecosystem through human capital development, innovation, and increasing economic productivity.
