Azerbaijan-UK discuss prospects for expanding economic and trade cooperation

Azer Bayramov, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, met with David Reed, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom. In particular, discussions focused on the diversification of Azerbaijan’s economy, cooperation opportunities in the liberated territories, the expansion of partnership in the non-oil sector, and the promotion of investment activities.

The meeting also addressed opportunities for Azerbaijani companies to access international capital markets. In this context, the prospects for local companies to be represented on both the Baku Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, as well as issues related to the development of capital markets and the expansion of financial cooperation, were in focus.
