Economic cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan is entering a new phase, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr said at a briefing in Baku dedicated to the results of the first Azerbaijan-U.S. Economic Dialogue, APA reports.

According to him, economic cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan is entering a new stage.

The U.S. official stated that the parties intend to expand cooperation in the areas of regional peace, energy security, trade, and digital infrastructure.

Caleb Orr emphasized that during the U.S. delegation’s visit to Baku, commercial agreements worth more than $8 billion were signed between SOCAR and the U.S. private sector, as well as at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy.

He noted that the sides discussed specific projects related to energy, critical minerals supply chains, regional transport and transit routes, aviation cooperation, the application of artificial intelligence technologies, and the modernization of Azerbaijan’s digital infrastructure.

“Relations between the United States and Azerbaijan are developing, and this is only the beginning,” Caleb Orr added.
