Baku is not only the cradle of the global oil industry but also a city that has achieved many historic firsts in the world of oil, OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais said during the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the OPEC+ Charter of Cooperation (CoC) in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan has long been one of the pioneers of the oil industry.
"Just as industrial innovations emerged on this land in the past, we believe that today's meeting will also deliver significant benefits for oil producers, consumers, investors, and the global economy as a whole," Haitham Al Ghais said.
He noted that the signing of the Charter of Cooperation on July 2, 2019, by OPEC member states and non-OPEC oil-producing countries marked the beginning of a new phase of cooperation and further strengthened the positive momentum created by the success of the Declaration of Cooperation.
