The Green Electricity Transmission and Trade Project involving Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia and Bulgaria is planned to move to the next stage, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said during his speech at the 5th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
The minister assessed the project as a strategic step in terms of long-term regional energy cooperation.
“We see this important project not only as an electricity transmission project, but as a strategic step that lays the foundation for long-term regional energy cooperation based on mutual benefit,” Bayraktar stated.
According to him, the parties intend to move the project to the next stage as soon as possible. Bayraktar noted that the signing of an important document related to the project, including an intergovernmental agreement, is being considered within the framework of COP31.
