The deepening of energy-related crises around the world has made international energy cooperation more important than before, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said during his speech on the outcomes of the 5th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
The minister noted that the world has faced a series of serious crises in recent years.
“The process that began with the pandemic, followed by the Russia-Ukraine war and now the U.S.-Iran confrontation continuing with the Strait of Hormuz crisis, shows that the new era has, in a sense, turned into a world of crises and conflicts,” Bayraktar said.
According to him, under such circumstances, international cooperation, particularly reliable partnerships in the energy sector, is of greater importance than ever before.
Bayraktar stated that the energy cooperation established between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is exemplary in this regard and that the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum has become an institutional platform for this cooperation.
The minister added that while cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sector continues, in recent years this partnership has increasingly expanded toward electricity and connectivity projects.
