US Vice-President JD Vance has urged Americans to vote for Republicans rather than Democrats in November’s midterm elections, describing the Democrats as a “bunch of lunatics”, APA reports.
Speaking at a Republican Party convention in Dallas on Thursday, Vance called on voters not to turn against the administration because of disagreements over some of its policies.
“Don’t hand this country over to a bunch of lunatics because you disagree with some of our political decisions,” Vance said.
“I’m not asking you to agree with me on every issue. I’m not asking you to support every single thing the administration does. But I am asking you to recognise the difference between [Republicans] and the radicals, and to recognise what the US administration has accomplished over the past 18 months.”
“We have done a lot, and if we fight together, we can do much more,” he added.
The US midterm elections are due to be held in November.
