Azerbaijan will continue to make additional efforts to establish and strengthen lasting peace in our region, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said in his address to the diplomatic corps visiting the Cultural Center in the city of Khankendi, APA’s correspondent assigned to Karabakh reports.
“We are learning to live in peace and are moving forward in this direction. We have realized that living in peace is such a great feeling that it cannot be expressed in words. Peace also begins with reconstruction and restoration work carried out on the ground. Peace does not only mean the absence of confrontation. Peace also means peacebuilding, reconstruction and building confidence and trust in the restoration process.
I am also pleased that the latest meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held in a very constructive atmosphere. Both sides agreed to begin bilateral engagement with the aim of further advancing our peace agenda and strengthening trust between the two countries, as well as developing trade relations, including connectivity and transport links between the two countries and across the broader region,” Hikmat Hajiyev noted.
He also said that he was pleased with the positive signs regarding the development of the trilateral concept and expressed his gratitude to the American partners for demonstrating their full commitment to the implementation of this project.
