Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) transported over 7.3 million passengers between January and August of this year, marking an 18% increase compared to the same period last year, ADY told APA-Economics.
According to information, 6.9 million passengers were carried on the Absheron Circular Railway (a 17% growth), 396,000 on interregional routes (a 15% growth), and 53,000 passengers traveled on the international Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route during the reporting period.
In August of this year, a 24% growth was recorded in overall passenger transportation (913,568 passengers).
