Azerbaijani Sabah lost 4-0 to English club Manchester United in their first match of the Champions League away match at Old Trafford, APA reports.
The goals were scored by Matheus Cunha (27th minute), Bruno Fernandes (42), Benjamin Sheshko (45), and Lisandro Martinez (69). Aleksey Isayev, a graduate of Yenisey Krasnoyarsk, entered the field for Sabah in the 63rd minute. Du Queiroz, on loan from Zenit, came on for the Azerbaijani team in the 75th minute. Three minutes earlier, Abdulakh Khaibulayev, a native of Khasavyurt, had entered the game.
Sabah became the second Azerbaijani club in history to qualify for the Champions League. Qarabag previously reached the group stage of the tournament in the 2017/18 season and played in the overall stage in the 2025/26 season.
In the next round, Manchester United will play Atlético Madrid away from home, while Sabah will host Slavia Prague. Both matches will take place on October 13.
