Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Technical Committee on the Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku, the Ministry of Energy told APA-Economics.
During the meeting, the results of cooperation within the OPEC+ framework were highly appreciated, and it was emphasized that the Charter of Cooperation serves as an important platform for further expanding this successful partnership.
The Secretary General highly praised Azerbaijan's role as a reliable and constructive partner within OPEC+ and expressed gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his continued support for this cooperation. He noted that the first technical meeting held in Baku is of great importance for further deepening multilateral cooperation under the Charter of Cooperation.
Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that the dialogue and cooperation opportunities created by the OPEC+ platform have played a special role in Azerbaijan's significant achievements in the field of renewable energy. It was noted that regular contacts between ministers and the atmosphere of mutual trust have made an important contribution to expanding Azerbaijan's partnerships with international energy companies, including the implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the future prospects of OPEC+ cooperation, expanding partnership among member countries in new areas, and making more effective use of the potential of the Charter of Cooperation.
