“We have plans afoot for acquisition of an oil refinery in Europe,†he added, not referring to the country where the refinery is to be bought.
He also noted that the feasibility study of a 10 million ton capacity refinery has been performed as part of the SOCAR-owned Turkish Petkim petrochemicals complex.
According to him, the construction of this refinery may commence next year.
Outside Azerbaijan, SOCAR acquired Kulevi Terminal in Georgia and Petkim in Turkey.
