The United States has handed over the Iranian vessel MV Tosca along with its crew to Pakistan, according to a BBC News report citing U.S. officials.
A spokesperson for the United States CENTCOM told ABC News that the ship, which was intercepted after allegedly attempting to breach a U.S. naval blockade, was transferred to Pakistan to facilitate the crew’s return to Iran.
Captain Tim Hawkins said that 22 crew members were moved to Pakistan for repatriation, while six others had already been transferred earlier last week. He added that the vessel was seized last month during an alleged attempt to v!olate the blockade imposed on Iran.
