The photo-exhibition is to be held in Paris on June 5-28, APA’s European bureau reports.
The photographs being displayed at the French Sports House have been selected based on the results of a photo contest on the Baku-2015 first-ever European Games organized by TEAS in 2014.
The photographs have been selected from among 300 photographs presented by professional and amateur photographers from different countries. The contest focuses on Azerbaijan, sports and its global side, and the European Games.
The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, president of the National Olympic Committee of France Massegliya Denis, head of the Wrestling Federation of France, head of the French delegation at the Games "Baku-2015" Alain Bertola, the head of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, Jean-Claude Frecon, Member of the French National Assembly, head of the France-Azerbaijan friendship Association Jean-François Mancel and others.
President of the National Olympic Committee of France Denis Massegliya expressed confidence that the upcoming Games will be held in Azerbaijan at the highest level: "Azerbaijan, pushing his candidacy, was sure that it is able to organize a competition of such a high level. Azerbaijan is a beautiful country, and its capital, has all the potential for European Games. "
Member of the French National Assembly Jean-Francois Mansel, in his turn, noted that the Games in Baku turned into a big celebration: "I think we will see a grand spectacle. Azerbaijan has managed in no time to be prepared for the Games. We are waiting for a wonderful sporting event. "
