According to Ahmadov, what is important is the fact that Azerbaijan is going to host the first European Games, and it will be an historic event.
“Azerbaijan will define a high standard for the European Games, and that standard will be followed by subsequent countries to host the European Games. Every citizen of Azerbaijan is proud of it. This is indicative of the fact that Azerbaijan has already integrated into the modern world, reached a high level of development and is ready to hold cultural events. Hosting sports competitions will both create an opportunity to promote Azerbaijan on a global scale and improve the country’s image. A large number of athletes as well as citizens of European countries will come here to participate in the Games. They will witness stability, tranquility, peace, and the conditions provided to citizens. Through the European Games, Azerbaijan will introduce itself to the world once more,” he said.
