“I not only feel honored, but also deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and my team at the Islamic Development Bank," Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group Muhammad Al Jasser said during the session titled “An Open Conversation with the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group” held as part of the Islamic Development Bank Annual Meetings in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He said that his re-election by the Boards of Governors is both an honor and a great responsibility for him:
“The Boards of Governors approved my candidacy, which means they apparently are not completely dissatisfied with me. They have entrusted me with another five years. Someone of my age could already be thinking about retirement, but when you witness the work being done by the Islamic Development Bank, it is a great blessing.”
The chairman added that the work carried out in recent years has delivered important results despite the challenges:
“Despite all the difficulties, every moment of what we have done has been worth it.”
He thanked the member countries for their trust.
