A draft law “On the Agricultural Sector” has been prepared, APA reports.
The draft law, which was submitted for discussion at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy, consists of seven chapters and 28 articles.
The draft law will define the legal, organizational, social and economic foundations of state regulation and state support in the sector in order to ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, food security and rural areas, create the necessary conditions for the production and primary processing of agricultural products, ensure the adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change, and promote the efficient use of agricultural land.
With the adoption of the law “On the Agricultural Sector,” the laws “On Grain,” “On Tea Growing,” “On Cotton Growing” and “On Agricultural Cooperation” will be repealed. Their relevant provisions will be incorporated into the new law.
Other sectoral laws will remain in force and will be linked to the new law within the framework of the “framework law – special laws” model.
