Azerbaijan’s banking sector allocated AZN 371 mln. to green and sustainable projects last year

A total of 371 million manats was allocated by the banking sector in Azerbaijan to green and sustainability-related projects last yearç APA-Economics reportsş

This was noted in the Central Bank’s “Sustainable Finance Report.”

The report states that within the framework of COP29, Azerbaijan’s banking sector plans to allocate 2 billion manats to sustainable and green projects by 2030. As a result, in 2025, 344 million manats and 27 million manats were allocated respectively to green and sustainability-related projects.

The majority of the loans provided accounted for green transport and sustainable agriculture sectors. In addition, financing was also carried out in the areas of energy efficiency and sustainable management of water resources.
